Course Schedule - Dive Master Course
Days 1-2:
- Complimentary Bus transfer to Pro Dive Training Centre - this service is provided every day of your course
- 8:30am - 5:30pm: Orientation to the PADI Open Water course
These two days are spent assisting a PADI Instructor conducting the theory and pool sessions of a PADI Open Water Diver Course. These sessions will serve as a re-introduction to the theory and skills of the Open Water Course for those candidates who have been away from a dive teaching environment for a long time. Candidates are asked to observe all videos, attend all lectures and complete all Open Water Course quizzes and exams. During the practical sessions you should observe your instructor closely with regard to their control, positioning, skill demonstration and problem solving, these sessions are non-assessable.
Day 3:
- 2:00pm - 5:30pm: Assisting with Rescue course pool session
Day 4:
- 8.30am - 12.30pm:
- Course overview
- Theory - Assisting with student diver in training
- Skill Circuit (in water training)
- Equipment Exchange (in water training)
- 15 min. tread water (last 2 min hands out of water)
- Tired diver tow (in water training)

- Theory - Divemaster conducted Programs

Day 5:
- 8:30am - 12:00pm: Theory & Watermanship Assessment
- Theory - Diving Physics
- Theory - Physiology
- Theory - Recreational Dive Planner
- Theory - Diving Skills and Environment
- Theory - Risk Management
- Theory - The Business of Diving
- 800m continuous Snorkel Swim (times under 17 min should be achievable)
- 400m continuous unaided Swim (times under 10 min should be achievable)
Day 6:
- 08:00am - 12:30pm: Study/Review
- 12:30pm - 6:00pm: Practical - Evaluated Pool Session with Open Water Course (Day 1)
Day 7:
- 8:30am - 12:00pm: Practical - Evaluated Pool Session with Open Water Course (Day 2)
- Lunch
- 1:00pm - 6:00pm: Practical - Evaluated Pool Session with Open Water Course (Day 1)
Day 8:
- 8:30am - 2:00pm: Practical - Evaluated Pool Session with Open Water Course (Day 2)
- 2:00pm - 5:30pm: Exams, Exam Review and Pool session review / evaluation. Exams will be conducted for Supervising Student Divers in Training Divemaster Conducted Programs and Supervising Certified Divers.
After examinations are complete time will be given to review exams and for further exam revision. Also your Instructor will conduct a review and evaluation of your Pool session.
Days 9-11:
These days will be spent on the Outer Reef doing a 3 day, 2 night live aboard dive trip. In this section of the course, you will complete 5 evaluated training dives, assisting an Instructor with both open water and Advanced courses on the boat. During your 3 day 2 night trip you will also be evaluated on Diver Rescue skills and on other non teaching Divemaster duties. Also you will have a dive site designated for your mapping exercise.
Day 12:
Time off to study for exams
Day 13:
- 8:30am - 12:00pm: Exams and Exam Review for Recreational Dive Planner Skills and the Environment Equipment.
- Lunch
- 1:00pm - 6:00pm: Practical - Evaluated Pool Session with Open Water Course (Day 1)
After examinations are complete time will be given to review exams, retests. Additional time after exam revision & retests should be used for completion of Dive site mapping exercise.
Day 14:
- 8:30am - 2:00pm: Practical - Pool session review / evaluation plus Evaluated Pool Session with Open Water Course (Day 2)
- 2:00pm - 6:00pm: Exams and Exam Review for Diving Physics Physiology
After examinations are complete time will be given to review exams, retests. Additional time after exam revision & retests should be used for completion of Dive site mapping exercise.
Days 15-17:
During your final 3 day 2 night trip you will be evaluated again on both teaching and non teaching Divemaster duties to complete your course requirements.
Please Note: On successful completion of this course, you will be required to submit, to PADI, together with your Divemaster paper work, PADI membership fees, PADI insurance if required, a Divemaster medical Report, and 2 passport size photographs.
Before commencing your Divemaster Course, you must thoroughly read the PADI Divemaster Manual. You will also need to have a copy of all PADI manuals, which include the Open Water, Advanced and Rescue Diver Manuals, as well as the PADI Wheel for study purposes.
You must be sure you are capable of completing all the swimming test requirements on Day 4 and 5 of the course. You must also prepare to complete all the exams on the specified days. The course structure is a guide and can be changed within reason although any additional days required by you, for retests etc, may incur an additional charge.
DIVEMASTER BOAT TRAINING SCHEDULE
Trip One Training Schedule
Day 1:
- Dive 1: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 1). Rescue Evaluation
- Dive 2: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 2)
- Dive 3: Evaluated training dive with Advanced Open water Navigation Dive.
- Dive 4: Non Evaluated training dive with Advanced Night Dive.
Day 2:
- Dive 1: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 3)
- Dive 2: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 4)
- After lunch start on mapping exercise for Gordons Mooring.
- Dive 3: Free dive
- Dive 4: Free dive (make up dive if necessary)
Day 3:
- Dive 1: Conduct Discover Local Diving program Briefing & Day guide (Training Dive). Can be dive 2 also.
- Dive 2: Free dive (make up dive if necessary)
- Dive 3: Deck duties/Surface supervision. DMT (under supervision) should be helping with back deck duties. i.e. Logging divers in/out, filling tanks and other general duties that happen on this last dive to prepare the boat for departure from the reef.
Trip Two Training Schedule
Day 1:
- Dive 1: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 1)
- Dive 2: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 2)
- Dive 3: Free dive
- Dive 4: Evaluated training dive with Advanced Night Dive. Can be scheduled to day three providing there are Advanced course dives scheduled.
Day 2:
- Dive 1: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 3)
- Dive 2: Evaluated training dive with Open water students.(Open water training dive 4)
- After lunch continue on mapping exercise for Gordons Mooring.
- Dive 3: Free dive
- Dive 4: Night Dive Briefing and Night Dive guide (Training Dive).
Day 3:
- Dive 1 : Free dive. This dive can be used for any other scheduled training dives or make up dives during you course.
- Dive 2 : Free dive. This dive can be used for any other scheduled training dives or make up dives during you course.
- Dive 3 : Deck duties/Surface supervision. DMT (under supervision) should be helping with back deck duties. i.e. Logging divers in/out, filling tanks and other general duties that happen on this last dive.
