Dive Master Course
Divemaster is the first level of the PADI Professional ratings. This elite qualification allows you to supervise recreational diving activities, either boat or land based, and to work as an instructional assistant on any PADI courses. As a PADI Divemaster you will hold the minimum rating for employment in the Diving Industry. It is also the minimum pre requisite for enrolment in a PADI Instructor Course (IDC).
Our 17 day course consists of a combination of theory sessions and practical skill development in both the pool and the ocean. Designed to give you the maximum experience possible your course includes 2 x 3 day 2 night liveaboard dive trips to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Over these 2 trips you will complete up to 20 dives consisting of a combination of training and recreational dives.
The pre-requisites for this course are PADI Rescue Diver certification or equivalent, a minimum age of 18 yrs, a minimum of 20 logged dives at commencement of the course and a current First Aid certification.(We can arrange a First Aid Course for you if required). In order to complete your PADI Divemaster certification you will need to have 60 logged dives. We can arrange any additional dives you may need to acquire these 60 dives at very competitive prices.

Extras
- AS 4005.1 dive medical. Cost A$49.50 or if you intend to work in the Queensland dive industry a commercial diving medical is required. This AS 2299 dive medical costs approximately A$70
- PADI Membership application fee A$121.00
- A current First Aid certificate. This can be arranged by us for A$140.00
- An additional fee of A$45.00 per person is payable direct to Pro Dive. This fee consists of a A$15.00 Government Environmental Charge as well as a Port Departure Tax, fuel levy and administration charges

What you'll learn
In addition to learning the standard PADI Divemaster course content you'll also learn:
- Correct surface supervision techniques and general deck duties - The logging in/out of divers, tank filling, surface supervision and general diver organisation and assistance.
- Radio Operations - Basic operation procedures and protocol, procedures for May Day, Pan Pan and Security calls
- O2 and Emergency Equipment - Assembly and usage of 0xygen equipment, launching procedures of life rafts, EPIRB operation and correct usage of flares
- Small Boat Operations - Correct launching procedure. Basic Boat handling i.e. safely approaching divers and general driving skills including docking procedures.

Cancellation Policy
- Full refund up until end of day one of your course.
- Cancellations after day one will be refunded on a Pro Rata basis.
- No refund on trips if notified less than 48 hours prior to departure.
IMPORTANT
Insufficient dive qualifications and/or some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. Prior to diving, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire regarding your diving qualifications, experience & current fitness to dive. Should you answer yes to the medical question asked you will be required to consult a doctor to acquire a medical certificate prior to your dive trip. Pro Dive Cairns can arrange this at a cost of A$49.50 per person.
Flying After Diving: We recommend that you do not fly until midday the day after your dive trip returns. This will give you 24 hours of surface interval after diving.
